KERRY WASHINGTON is reportedly pregnant with her second child.
Sources tell E! News the “Scandal” star and her husband, former American footballer Nnamdi Asomugha, are expecting a sibling for their two-year-old daughter Isabelle.
Representatives for the famously private couple have yet to comment on the claims, but Kerry, 39, wore a loose-fitting black Victoria Beckham dress to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, D.C. on Saturday night, sparking reports suggesting she was concealing a baby bump.
She is also due to walk the red carpet at the 2016 Met Gala in New York City on Monday night, and during an interview on U.S. breakfast show Good Morning America hours earlier, she hinted she may opt for a more accommodating style of gown, so she has room to eat at the high-profile bash.
Recalling the cotton candy pink Prada dress she wore to the 2015 event, she explained, “I had never worn a big, sort of ball gown to the Met before. I tended to go with more sleek silhouette (in previous years), so I just thought it would be fun.
“It’s also a dress you can eat in, which is fun at a dinner…! Because you do eat! You have to be able to touch up your own lipstick and wear a dress you can eat in!”
Kerry, who wore a floral dress for the sit-down interview, made no mention of her rumored pregnancy, but she admitted she was excited to attend the annual Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
“This night is really strictly about fashion. You know, the Oscars are about filmmaking, the Emmys are about excellence in television, but this night is really about fashion as art and celebrating the Met, and you know, history of great fashion and how it fits into our context of American art, international art.”
Kerry and Nnamdi’s relationship only became public after they wed in secret in Idaho in June, 2013, and she famously refused to comment on her first pregnancy until three months after the news had first surfaced.
“I will say I feel really, really blessed,” Kerry previously gushed to the Los Angeles Times after becoming a first-time mother. “I just feel really blessed that I’m kind of living extraordinary dreams come true in my work life and in my personal life.”
